Divided by the Willamette River and bordered on the north by the Columbia River, Portland abounds in parks (10% of all city land) including 5,100-acre Forest Park. The city offers an array of restaurants from gourmet to bistro fare, organic and vegetarian. Coffee houses, clubs, galleries, and a wide range of event venues support a rich and diverse nightlife. Many varied residential areas for renters or homeowners surround the NCNM campus, allowing easy access by foot, bike, or public transportation.

Health Information
Health Insurance All enrolled students at NCNM are required to carry medical health insurance coverage. There are two health insurance options through the college or a student may possess their own policy. NCNM works with an insurance broker, USI Northwest, to provide the best coverage possible for our students.
When a student enrolls in the Student Health Insurance Plan through the school, a student can receive health care coverage at NCNM Natural Health Center clinics. This includes:
•16 pre-deductible visits per year at our 1st Avenue or Pettygrove clinics.
•Natural pharmacy benefits of 50% off up to $1500 per year.
•Some Lab and X-ray services at and/or through NCNM.
In addition to the services received at the NCNM Clinics, a student has a list of local providers that take the student health insurance.
When a student enrolls in one of the student health insurance plans, their tuition statement is automatically charged three equal premium payments in fall, winter, and spring. Coverage is from the first day of classes, through the end of the last day of classes in the summer term. More information is available through the Office of Student Services at 503.552.1601 or by visiting the Chickering Group website (School Name: NCNM).
