Student Health InformationHealth Insurance All enrolled students at NCNM are required to carry medical health insurance coverage. There are two health insurance options through the college, or a student may possess their own policy. NCNM works with an insurance broker, USI Northwest, to provide the best coverage possible for our students. When a student enrolls in the Student Health Insurance Plan through the school, a student can receive health care coverage at the NCNM Clinic. This includes:
In addition to the services received at the NCNM Clinic, students have a list of local providers who take the studenthealth insurance. When a student enrolls in one of the student health insurance plans, their tuition statement is automatically charged three equal premium payments in fall, winter and spring. Coverage is from the first day of classes, through the end of the last day of classes in the summer term. Other Insurance OptionsOptions for students in regards to family plans, dental insurance, optical insurance, and other individualized needs are offered independently through private brokers. NCNM Teaching Clinic Shift DiscountsCurrent NCNM student clinic discounts (separate from insurance coverage) are 20% for students and dependents. There is a 15% discount off medicinary purchases. Psychological CounselingNCNM offers free in-house counseling to students. Appointments can be arranged directly through the director of counseling services’ appointment line, 503.552.1780. Each student is eligible for up to 10 free visits per school year. ImmunizationsTuberculosis Surveillance: All incoming NCNM students, as well as those returning from leaves of absence abroad, are required to participate in TB surveillance before matriculation, and annually thereafter if working in high risk environments. The required method of TB blood test can be obtained at various labs, and for a reduced rate at the NCNM Clinic lab. Please contact Student Services for forms and information. Hepatitis B Vaccine: Optional Hepatitis B vaccine is offered to all students at no cost to the student. Hepatitis B vaccine clinics are scheduled on campus throughout the year.
