The NCNM Admissions Team
Originally from: Dominican Republic Reason I love working at NCNM : I enjoy the passion our students, faculty and staff have for the medicines that we teach. I also like that the personality of the campus is laidback, supportive and cooperative – yet rigorous. Added bonus: our campus offers easy access to good food, I can just go for a walk and be in the center of downtown Portland in minutes. Piece of advice for prospects in the medical college search process: Submit your application earlier in the process rather than later (completing your file by the end of January for fall, and by the end of July for winter is best). NCNM operates on a rolling basis, and as soon as the committee starts reviewing files they will start awarding scholarships. Once our scholarship funds have all been awarded, we won’t be able to award more even if strong applicants are still applying. Favorite TV shows: ESPN SportsCenter Favorite way to travel: Don’t really have a favorite at the moment, but bike and public transportation is how I get to work now. Favorite way to procrastinate: Problem solving. Favorite places to spend time in Portland: Wow! I can go on and on about this one…downtown Portland at any of the awesome sights of the city, the unique restaurants and food carts, bicycling the esplanade, the green areas (parks), and going to the Rose Quarter to watch a Trail Blazers NBA game. The bottom-line is that Portland is just great! The one thing I want to accomplish in the next several years: Show up and continue to embrace change. A random fact about me: I love fruits…my favorite drink is coconut water. |
