The Board of Trustees of Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (YSU) invites applications for the position of President. The Board seeks a dynamic, creative, and skillful leader with vision and integrity who can build upon the success of the outgoing president and actualize the Strategic Plan developed by the Board.
As the University’s chief executive officer, the President is responsible for implementing the Strategic Plan and effective management of the institution; sustaining and enhancing the institution’s mission and overall operations while fostering and building upon the existing traditions, distinctiveness, and strengths of the University; providing overall leadership and direct supervision of the deans and administrators; working with a wide range of internal and external constituents, especially Luminaries and donors; providing leadership in the development of high-quality academic programs; overseeing the University fiscal planning; and securing external resources through grants and fund-raising activities.
The successful candidate must have an earned doctoral degree. Preferred candidates should have demonstrated substantive experience in both professional practice and higher education administration. Higher education experience must include hands-on accreditation/self-study and evidence document preparation with special focus on overseeing the planning and actualization of assessment loops at all levels of University operations. The successful candidate will have worked closely with one or more governing boards, preferably in higher education and/or healthcare environments, to actualize mission and to document the achievement of measurable competency based outcome objectives. He/she must possess energy and integrity, a commitment to student learning, growth and development as well as the intellectual, analytical, spiritual, and personal qualities for embracing and advancing existing and new University programs, enhancing academic facilities, and building partnerships with medical establishments, government and philanthropic organizations. He/she must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a strong commitment to advancing the use of technology; the ability to sustain and enhance the fiscal integrity of the University; recruit, retain and evaluate a competent administration, faculty and staff; and work in a complex and dynamic environment with flexibility and humor.
