Job Title: Associate Dean
Salary Range: $28.35 to $30.75

Provides assistance to the Dean of Classical Chinese Medicine in ensuring that NCNM provides high quality, learner-centered education that produces competent, confident and successful graduates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that curriculum content and andragogy are of appropriate quality and rigor to provide students with a clear, learner-centered path to earning the MSOM and MAc degrees and associated certificates achieving the desired outcomes of the program.
Lead the creation and submission of applications for degree and certificate programs to be submitted to the NWCCU.
Lead the CCM faculty in the development, implementation and assessment of competencies that drive the content and delivery of education.
In conjunction with the CCM Dean and the Director of Curriculum and Faculty Development research and recommend appropriate implementation by faculty of leading-edge methods of curriculum assessment for achieving the CCM mission.
Lead the faculty in the creation of “flip-class” content for School Curricula
Lead the faculty in developing, delivering, and assessing continuing medical education and programs for CCM and other healthcare professionals, and in developing delivery and assessing community education offerings for the general public pertaining to Classical Chinese Medicine.
In conjunction with the registrar schedule all CCM program tracks, including dual degree tracks certificate and part-time programming.
Lead the redesign of the CCM faculty evaluation process, including the development of a faculty portfolio system.
Conduct bi-annual evaluation of all CCM adjunct faculty.
Ensure that all CCM Faculty portfolios are current.
Prepare in a timely fashion individual faculty contracts per college policy and practices.
Work with the Assistant to the Dean to ensure administration of all aspects of convening the academic review and appeals committee.
In conjunction with the Associate CCM Dean for Clinics, the Director of Clinical Operations and the registrar ensure effective scheduling of all clinical experiences.
Work with the CCM Associate Dean for Clinics and faculty in the development and assessment of clinical competencies to be used in the ongoing evaluation of the clinical performance of students.
Work with the Associate CCM Dean for Clinics to refine the assessment of clinical performance, including the clinical entrance and exit requirements.
Assist the CCM Dean and the Director of Institutional Research and Compliance to ensure that the School of Classical Chinese Medicine is in compliance with the standards of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
In conjunction with the Director of Institutional Research and Compliance ensure the timely and thorough completion of all self-studies, annual reports, special reports, and other documents required by the various accrediting bodies.
In conjunction with the Director of Institutional Research and Compliance, ensure that the School of Classical Chinese Medicine complies with the educational standards of all North American licensing jurisdictions.
In conjunction with the CCM Dean ensure that all activities of the School of Classical Chinese Medicine and its faculty are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and administrative rules of the various jurisdictions.
Implement, monitor and report on progress relative to a strategic plan for the School of Classical Chinese Medicine which is in alignment with the College’s strategic plan and supportive of the mission and vision of the College.
Serve the College on various committees, task forces, and other bodies as assigned, including the CARE and AWARE committees.
Participate in admissions interviews of incoming potential transfer and second degree students.
Ensure the ongoing review and, as needed, modification to prerequisite standards and technical standards for the CCM programs.
Support the mission, vision, and values of the College in all respects.
Accepts full responsibility for the operation of the School of CCM in the absence of the CCM Dean.
Work with the Associate Dean of Academic Progress, Dean of Students, Registrar and other appropriate NCNM employees to ensure the satisfactory academic progress of students.
Ensure the necessary steps in the process of addressing academic concerns and needs of students.
Facilitate an invitational atmosphere for student input into change processes.
May be required to participate in College activities during evening and weekend hours and must be available to travel out of town to attend various approved events and meetings as needed.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
First professional degree in classical Chinese medicine or a doctoral degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
At least five years of demonstrated abilities in a leadership and management role in a clinical and/or educational environment.
Graduate degree in educational administration, curriculum design, teaching arts or a related discipline.
At least five years of demonstrated experience in the field of Classical Chinese Medicine.
