Jennifer Tufenkian, ND

Adjunct Faculty

Bio

Dr. Tufenkian has a distinctive approach toward embodying holistic health care. Her goal as a naturopathic physician is to empower patients to take responsibility for their own health.  “My passion is to support and encourage people who are committed to their process of healing.”

Dr. Tufenkian specializes in the following areas:

●  Women’s health
●  Pediatrics
●  Teen health
●  Chronic disease
●  Miscarriage and post-partum care
●  Bowen technique

Her practice is rooted in the core philosophy of naturopathic medicine. She is interested in discovering the root cause of ailments and addresses them using age-old treatments such as diet, hydrotherapy, botanicals and homeopathy, as well as more conventional treatments.

Dr. Tufenkian has specific expertise in advanced herbology and homeopathic drainage. Additionally, she is an experienced women’s health provider, and has pursued advanced training in menstrual disorders, miscarriage management and prevention, and fertility.

After creating the ideal diet for her patients, she helps them learn to shop for healthy ingredients and cook with them. Dr. Tufenkian teaches cooking for groups and individuals with medical diets (celiac, allergies, arthritis, diabetes, cancer, etc.).  “In one of my past lives, I was a professional baker. I love to help people realize they can still eat delicious food, despite their food intolerances.”

Dr. Tufenkian earned her doctorate in naturopathic medicine degree from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000 and completed her residency in 2001. She is currently a supervising clinician at the NCNM Clinic and is one of the founding physicians of the “360 Degree Weight Loss Program.”  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking in the forest, wildcrafting, cooking and reading.
