Faculty Conference Travel Funding
Faculty are encouraged to participate in conferences and workshops, and to take classes, that will improve their professional credentials. All NCNM faculty--both full-time and part-time--may submit an application for conference travel funding to the faculty development committee. Funds are limited, and the committee must make its decisions to fund applicants based upon criteria published below. There are no hard deadlines for application submission, but applications submitted earlier in the academic year have a better chance of being funded.
Faculty who are granted travel awards will be expected to report back to their colleagues about what they learned in an appropriate forum (departmental faculty meeting, lunch and learn workshop, faculty senate meeting, etc.).
Funding Criteria
Applications will be considered according to the following criteria:
- Significance of the conference or workshop to the professional development of the applicant and/or the academic interests of the College.
- Level of participation in the conference or workshop of the applicant (speaker, board officer, etc.). Priority will be given to those who are active participants in the conference or workshop.
- Prior travel awards received (priority will be given to those who have not received awards in the recent past).
- Recommended by departmental Dean.
