Mayen’s passion for medicine and interest in learning about different natural approaches to women’s health led her to NCNM. With a BA in Molecular Biology from Concordia University, she has worked on various company-sponsored clinical research studies at the Women’s Health and Research Unit at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). Her previous studies include the Intended Use Study of the BD Sure path Plus™ Pap and A Safety and Efficacy Trial Evaluation the use of Apixaban in the Treatment of Symptomatic Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism.

At the Helfgott Research Institute, Mayen is currently working on women health studies including A Comparison of the Effects of Organic Cotton and Rayon Blend Tampons on Vaginal Cytokines and A Double Blind, Randomized Placebo Controlled Trial of FertilAid for Women on Preganancy and Hormone Regulation.

Aside from work, Mayen enjoys volunteering her time at church as part of a dance ministry and also designs conferences to encourage young women to pursue their dreams.
