Helané Wahbeh, ND
Dr. Helané Wahbeh is naturopathic physician and clinician researcher focused on complementary and alternative medicine, specifically mind-body medicine research. She completed her undergraduate degree at University of California Berkeley and received her clinical doctorate at the National College of Natural Medicine. She obtained her Master of Clinical Research from Oregon Health & Science University where she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology.
She is the principal investigator of VET MIND, a clinical research study funded by National Institute of Health National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. VET MIND examines the mechanistic pathways of mindfulness meditation in combat veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder and incorporates multiple objective outcomes measures. Dr. Wahbeh has published on cortisol, mind-body medicine applications in neurology, immune outcome measures in mind-body medicine studies, and the use of objective adherence in mind-body medicine studies. Dr. Wahbeh serves as principal investigator at NCNM's Helfgott Research Institute, Institutional Review Board co-chair, and mentor for NCNM's Masters of Integrative Medicine students. She has completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher Training by Jon Kabat-Zinn and a four-year Corelight Meditation Teacher Training. She has practiced meditation for 11 years.
