Careers in Research

NCNM graduates have numerous career options. Graduates can go on to:
  • Careers in integrative medicine research groups at private institutions or medical schools.
  • They may join the growing field of health media, using their skills to critically analyze research literature in combination with strong writing and public speaking skills.
  • They may pursue a career in public health, serving others by confronting health issues such as health care access, infectious disease and environmental health.
 
Students who complete both the Master of Science in Integrative Medicine Research and Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Oriental Medicine or the Master of Acupuncture will be prepared to become clinician researchers. Students who graduate with a doctoral degree may pursue post-doctoral fellowships in CAM research with the ultimate goal of managing their own research studies. Armed with their research skills, these dual degree graduates will also be better prepared to be evidence-based clinicians.
