Are you ready to take the challenge to find the true cause of your health problems?”

In his clinical practice, Dr. Thom strives to implement the true meaning of the word ‘doctor’ (from the Latin word “docere”), which means to teach. His practice focuses on teaching patients how to heal themselves. He helps coach people in ways that allow them to access more of their natural resources for healing and prosperity. His therapies include the management of food and environmental allergies and sensitivities, nutrition, drainage therapy using homeopathy, herbal medicine and hydrotherapy. His clinical experience has served as the foundation for his book called, Coping With Food Intolerances. He has also contributed to numerous publications throughout the 30 years of his medical practice.
Dr. Thom supervises student interns on clinical rotations at the NCNM Clinic, and is a full-time faculty member at NCNM, teaching clinical and physical diagnosis, gastroenterology, neurology and practical endocrinology. In addition, Dr. Thom is an investigator at NCNM's Helfgott Research Institute and has a private practice at the Bambu Clinic in Portland.
Since 1999, he has been lecturing in Canada and the United States on the benefits of biotherapeutic drainage. He has written and published one of the first books in the English language on the topic of biotherapeutic drainage and UNDA numbers, UNDA Numbers: An Energetic Journey to Homeostasis and Wellness.
Dr. Thom graduated from University of Toronto dental school in 1974, from Ontario College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto in 1986 and from NCNM in 1989.
Getting to know Dr. Thom
I have been married for 35 years and have 2 grown children, one living in Canada and the other in Minneapolis. When not teaching at NCNM, I spend weekends lecturing around the country on how to operate a successful small business. I have 3 dogs and adore animals.
Besides my professional activities, I am obsessed with ice hockey. I have been a Boston Bruin hockey fan for over 55 years and travel around the U.S. and Canada to watch them play. In retirement I hope to travel with the team and attend every game in their entire season.
