Integrating Mindfulness and Mind-Body Therapy:
An Intensive Weekend Workshop
Paul Epstein, ND
Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 2-3, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
NCNM, Room 322
Disease tells a story, not just about our cells and a diagnosis but about our selves and our lives. Listening to this story, we are led to the truth of what happened to us and the emotions that lie at the core of our authentic being. This comprehensive training in mind-body skills will teach you how to look and listen within to discover the message and meaning hidden inside pain and symptoms.
Through guided inquiry, silent reflection, meditation, lecture, discussion, case histories and group support, you will learn to apply the principles of mind-body healing in your clinical practice and your life. This workshop is experiential and participants are asked to practice the skills being taught.
The curriculum topics includes:
• How to integrate mindfulness meditation, guided imagery, relaxation, breathing, yoga therapy, self-awareness, Buddhist psychology and Internal Family Systems therapy with all-natural therapeutics to facilitate the self-healing journey;
• How biography becomes biology; the body bears the burden;
• Healing trauma, invisible wounds, and PTSD; Homeopathy without the remedy
• What healing is and how it happens;
• How to be with and embrace our truth with wisdom and compassion;
• Skillful means in medicine, illness as opportunity for healing and awakening;
• Unconditional presence, radical acceptance, beginner's mind and spiritual maturity.
