Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine for Chiropractic DoctorsNCNM ’s new Doctor of Chiropractic Professional Track program is part of our vision to provide custom-made programs for advanced degree students wishing to study naturopathic medicine. This new four-year program was created in response to requests from advanced degree students enrolled in our full-time ND program to have a schedule which would allow them to continue their practice while pursuing a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. The ND for DCs schedule, which begins in September 2012, will take the form of an extended weekend once each month plus summer intensives of 14 days in July and in August each year. CurriculumCourses for the DC Professional Track program are consistent with courses from the full-time ND curriculum but specifically designed with the training of the DC in mind by excluding courses for which our current DC students frequently receive transfer credit. Typically this includes most of the first-year ND courses. In some cases, courses in the rest of the curriculum will have the same or similar names to courses a DC takes in chiropractic school, but they will differ in two significant respects. First, courses in the DC professional track are designed for doctors who are already in practice and thus will have a more “real world” focus. Academic and clinical training in the DC professional track is also focused on the acquisition of internal medicine knowledge, skills, and competencies that are different from those DCs receive in their educational experience. TuitionTuition for the DC Professional track is $537 per credit, or approximately $28,000 per year. The program is eligible for financial aid. For more information contact: NCNM Admissions Office |
